The Black Dog Institute is dedicated to understanding, preventing and treating mental illness.

The Black Dog Institute was founded in 2002 and is internationally recognised as a pioneer in the identification, prevention and treatment of mental illness, and the promotion of wellbeing.

We aim to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness through the rapid translation of high-quality research into improved clinical treatments, increased access to mental health services and delivery of long-term public health solutions.

Our unique approach incorporates clinical services with our cutting-edge research, our health professional training and community education programs. We combine expertise in clinical management with innovative research to develop new, and more effective strategies for people living with mental illness. We also place emphasis on teaching people to recognise the symptoms of poor mental health in themselves and others, as well as providing them with the right psychological tools to hold the black dog at bay.

We work directly in all parts of the community as well as guiding the development of new and improved policy. We place focus on those with specific mental health needs like young people, Indigenous communities, men, and high-risk workforces.

Our primary areas of mental health research and treatment include: depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, workplace mental health, adolescents and young people, suicide prevention, e-mental health, and positive psychology and wellbeing.

Excellent tailbag with inspiring design

This tailbag is excellently manufactured and thought out; it has an external lid pouch for all your immediate essentials, and internal flap to hold documents and closes off with waterproof zips. The straps hold very tight and have a velcro fastener, so the leftover doesn’t flap around. The feel and design is top class and Amanda’s customer service is outstanding: helpful, flexible, quick and absolutely lovely to deal with!

Tailbags

I think these bags are fantastic, easy to secure on the bike, the shoulder straps and the backpack straps on the larger one are something I was not expecting, bonus. They look very solid and high quality.

Added the medium to the small Tully. Love it!

I have owned the small Tully for over a year. This purchases adds the medium to the family. Love the piggy-back system. Perfect for a bunch of overnighters coming up. It fits a surprisingly large amount of stuff. Also enjoying being able to take my laptop on the bike so I can pretend to be working when I’m actually riding. Medium is perfect for my MacBook. Never has a drop of water entered. Quality is next level.

Completely waterproof. Tested over 10000km.

Thought I'd add my appreciation to an awesome product. I just rode Perth - Brisbane - Sydney - Melbourne - Adelaide - Perth, 10,220km on all. During this trip I managed to get rained on pretty much every day - including 250mm in one night near Broken Hill, and the second '100 year' flooding event near Lismore. At least three days were continuous, constant, downpour. I'd trusted my DSLR gear to the Tully tailbag, and hung it off my larger Motech luggage. It rained so much the water eventually got into one of my old bike's carbies near Orange, it got into the tacho, fogged it up and broke the gears, it also made it past the outer layers of the very expensive Motech luggage. But not one drop got into my camera gear, safe inside the Tully tailbag. This thing is more waterproof than a frog's proverbial. As other's have mentioned, the zipper is a bit stiff even when you've lubed it. But that's what makes it waterproof and if you've got enough wrist strength to twist a throttle, I'm sure you can manage a zipper.
In summary, the Tully tailbag kept water out where other high-end luggage didn't. The fastener systems are well thought out and make attaching it to just about anything simple. Superb product. Can't recommend highly enough.
